Instructional Aide Special Education - Mild to Moderate

About This Role

Assist a certificated teacher in providing instructional support and specialized one-to-one services to individual students with special education needs. Monitor and report student progress to help them achieve independence.

Responsibilities

• Assist a certificated teacher in providing instruction to students in an assigned special education program
• Provide personal care or health assistance to individual special education students
• Attend all required training to perform tasks required in individual plans
• Assist students in understanding and comprehension of classroom assignments
• Reinforce instruction to students with physical handicaps, medical conditions, learning disabilities, communication and/or behavioral issues
• Confer with and take direction from teachers, counselors, psychologists, nurses and administrators concerning programs and material
