Information Systems Tech

About This Role

This role will provide essential technical support for hardware, software, and peripheral equipment within the City's information systems, focusing on upgrades, problem resolution, and system installations.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for a variety of computer equipment including hardware, software and related equipment
• Diagnose and recommend corrective actions to remedy software and/or hardware problems
• Participate in the planning, implementation and installation of new systems based upon City and user needs
• Receive and analyze requests for services; coordinate with staff members to fill requests
• Provide end users and DTI management with a wide variety of reports and data
• Upgrade existing hardware and/or software; convert data files from one computer platform to another; support the restoration and reconfiguration of systems
• Attend and participate in professional group meetings; stay abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of information systems
• Maintain system security for the City’s mainframe system
• Maintain system documentation

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field
• 1 year of information systems experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in information systems, computer science or a related field
• 1 year of information systems experience
