IBM Mainframe Developer

About This Role

This role involves all facets of the software development process for IBM mainframe systems, including research, design, programming, testing, and implementation. The candidate will work independently to support and maintain mainframe applications and participate in system integration across various platforms.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, program, test, and implement computer software on IBM z/OS mainframes
• Monitor production work and perform error diagnostic/debugging activities in a mainframe environment
• Create and maintain documentation related to designing, programming, and testing in a mainframe environment
• Perform system to system integration across heterogeneous platforms utilizing a Service Oriented Architecture

Requirements

• 85+ months experience in software development, working independently
• 60 months experience with COBOL programming on IBM z/OS mainframes
• Experience monitoring production work, including systems analysis, design, program, unit and integrated testing
• 48 months experience utilizing IBM JCL and CICS
• 48 months experience working with IBM DB2
• 48 months experience monitoring production work and performing error diagnostic/debugging activities in a mainframe environment
• 36 months experience creating and maintaining documentation related to designing, programming, and testing in a mainframe environment
• 36 months experience performing system to system integration across heterogeneous platforms (such as Windows, Linux and AIX) utilizing a Service Oriented Architecture
• Must come onsite to Albany the first week for onboarding
• Must sit on the EST/CST time zone
• Must not require sponsorship now or in the future

Qualifications

• 85+ months of experience working independently in the software development process with potential advanced education; specifically, 60 months COBOL programming on IBM z/OS mainframes, 48 months with IBM JCL and CICS, 48 months with IBM DB2, and 36 months performing cross-platform system integration.
