The Area Service Manager will lead and develop commercial HVAC Service Technicians, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and technician productivity. This role involves technical leadership, managing service operations, and fostering strong customer relationships for Nextech, America's largest HVAC/R service provider.
Responsibilities
- Actively participate in recruiting and hiring of Technicians
- Supervise and develop the technician workforce
- Assist Operations Manager in forecasting Technician needs and hiring appropriately
- Ensure Technician productivity meets or exceeds goals
- Maintain market work levels to support Technicians through quality site surveys and sales
- Handle escalated field/technician-related service issues
- Develop training plans for assigned Technicians using Company materials
- Provide technical support and ensure quality of work for the area
- Perform ride-alongs with Technicians and conduct annual reviews
- Conduct weekly service meetings, communicate goals, and provide performance scorecards
- Perform inspections of vans and equipment at service meetings
- Maintain local customer relationships with RSM and Account Managers
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years as an HVAC Service Technician
- Technical knowledge to support technicians and customers
- Ability to conduct professional conversations with customers and resolve concerns
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines
- Ability to adapt to fast-paced environment and deadlines
- Experience in recruiting and hiring Technicians
- Ability to lift 100 pounds
- Ability to pick up and maneuver a 32-foot ladder
- Ability to climb ladders multiple times
- Ability to haul equipment and tools to roof via ladders
- Ability to drive extended hours (up to 8-10 hours per day)
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years as an HVAC Service Technician, management experience is a plus
