Serve as an administrative resource and clinical supervisor to hospital departments in the absence of administrators and managers, ensuring smooth operations and high-quality patient care. This role involves participating in patient placement, prioritizing patient care needs, and optimizing staff utilization.
Responsibilities
- Serve as an administrative resource to all hospital departments in the absence of administrators and department managers
- Supervise the provision of nursing care both clinically and administratively
- Facilitate effective communication to maintain a clear understanding of patient and facility needs
- Actively participate in patient placement
- Prioritize the needs of patient care units
- Stay informed about the overall medical center situation
- Assist in balancing departmental budgets by optimizing staff utilization and resources
- Maintain operational efficiency and deliver exceptional patient care with a focus on Infection Control, Associate Health Policies and Procedures, Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), leadership, and communication
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or BSN preferred
- Current Iowa RN license
- Minimum of 3 years medical/surgical, ICU or ER nursing experience
