High School Intense Intervention Teacher

About This Role

This role involves developing and implementing individualized education programs for students with extensive support needs. The teacher will provide differentiated instruction, create a structured classroom environment, and collaborate with staff and parents to promote student learning and postsecondary readiness.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students receiving intense intervention services
• Provide differentiated instruction addressing academic, functional, communication, and social-emotional skills
• Adapt general education curriculum and create modified instructional materials for students’ unique needs
• Implement evidence-based instructional strategies to promote independence, functional skills, and postsecondary readiness
• Establish a structured, supportive, and safe classroom environment
• Teach and reinforce daily living, social interaction, and employability skills
• Collect, analyze, and maintain student progress data to guide instruction and inform IEP goals
• Provide direct supervision and guidance to paraprofessionals and support staff
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, counselors, and other staff
• Communicate effectively and regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress

Requirements

• Valid state teaching license with certification in Special Education (Intense Intervention or equivalent)
• Knowledge of specialized instructional strategies, assistive technology, and behavioral interventions
• Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with all legal and ethical guidelines

Qualifications

• Entry level (experience working with students with significant disabilities preferred)
