This dual-role position serves as both a healthcare practitioner within an organizational setting and a Career and Technical Education (CTE) instructor for the Medical Assistant (MA) program in partnership with Klamath Community College (KCC). The role focuses on workforce development and supporting student pathways into postsecondary education and healthcare careers.
Responsibilities
- Perform industry-related or administrative duties within a healthcare setting
- Deliver Medical Assistant instruction and/or capstone experiences to high school students on a CTE campus
- Teach healthcare-related courses including medical terminology, anatomy, patient care, and medical ethics
- Develop, plan, and implement curriculum for assigned CTE courses, ensuring alignment with industry standards
- Provide hands-on instruction, mentorship, and support to students
- Foster a positive and engaging learning environment
- Collaborate with school staff to monitor student progress and provide career guidance
- Organize and facilitate career-focused events like internships and job shadowing
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field or equivalent professional experience with certification
- Minimum 1 year of experience working in a healthcare environment (clinical or administrative)
- Necessary certifications as applicable to experience (e.g., RN, LPN, CMA)
- Flexibility and adaptability
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with healthcare professionals and high school students
- Passion for teaching, mentoring, and supporting students in healthcare careers
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field or equivalent professional experience with certification
