Lead and supervise participants in a K-6 Afterschool Program, facilitating educational, artistic, and recreational activities. Cultivate positive development in children while ensuring their health, safety, and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to policies and procedures in a proactive manner
- Successfully implement educational, artistic, and recreational activities
- Actively engage with and build positive relationships with children
- Ensure the health, safety and well-being of children through close supervision
- Inspect and organize facilities, equipment, and supplies daily; provide supervisors with a daily room check-in log
- Evaluate each scholar’s performance and growth in knowledge and aesthetic understanding
- Maintain accurate program documentation
- Prepare the learning environment that exhibits participants’ work
- Work as a collaborative team; provide support to other Specialists and Group Leaders
- Understand and communicate the Riis Settlement mission and program goals to participants and parents
- Actively participate in all aspects of professional development
- Organize and/or participate in external special events to promote the Agency's mission
- Adhere to all Department of Health and New York State OCFS policies and standards
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of two years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of two years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required. Experience working in an after school setting preferred: Elementary/ Middle School Aged students.

- Experience working in an after-school setting with Elementary/Middle School Aged students
