Group Leader - Assembly

About This Role

Lead an assembly group to meet daily production schedules, ensuring employee training, safety, quality, and productivity goals are met. This role supports the Production Supervisor in a manufacturing setting while driving production and managing costs.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily activities to meet the production schedule
• Ensure proper staffing for TAKT time
• Administer adequate training for new employees
• Meet safety, quality, productivity, and MRO goals for the area
• Accurately complete daily hour-by-hour sheets, repair logs, and checklists
• Correctly report production items daily
• Follow established standard work, perform time observations, and lay out standard work as needed
• Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members at all levels
• Monitor repairs and scrap, and provide corrective actions to the supervisor
• Assist with fork truck operation and assembly line repairs
• Perform basic math calculations
• Stand and walk for 10-12 hours per day and lift up to 40 lbs

Requirements

• 3+ years experience in fast-paced manufacturing, assembly required
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent attendance and safe work history
• Self-motivated and able to work under high pressure
• Leadership ability in the workplace
• Ability to give and receive constructive criticism
• Experience with lean manufacturing
• Good understanding of ergonomics
• Previous experience building and testing finished product
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
• Able to communicate through emails

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting with assembly experience. Previous experience building and testing finished product is necessary.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of compressor assembly and electric motors
