Grocery Team Member

About This Role

The Grocery Team Member is responsible for receiving and preparing products, maintaining appealing displays, stocking shelves, and providing excellent customer service in accordance with Whole Foods Market standards and core values.

Responsibilities

• Ensure fresh and appealing product displays by stocking, front-facing, checking codes, rotating, and removing out-of-date products.
• Stock and clean grocery shelves, bulk bins, frozen, and dairy cases.
• Monitor and prevent spoilage, communicating waste to buyers, Team Leaders, and shift supervisors.
• Maintain back stock in good order and assist with periodic inventory checks.
• Provide excellent customer service, addressing needs timely and effectively, and modeling suggestive selling techniques.
• Follow established procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising products to maximize sales.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment, and ensure equipment aligns with cleanliness and safety standards.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned, ensuring accuracy of signs and pricing.
• Report safety hazards and violations immediately.
• Work all scheduled shifts, attend required trainings and meetings, and fulfill other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to stand/walk 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday
• Ability to perform single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
• Ability to perform motions: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching
• Ability to work in wet and cold environments
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays

Qualifications

• No prior retail experience required.
