Grocery Associate

About This Role

The Grocery Associate is responsible for enhancing customer satisfaction and loyalty by providing courteous and prompt service within the grocery department. This role involves maintaining consistent operating conditions and fostering a friendly shopping atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous attention to customer needs; greet, assist and thank customers promptly and courteously
• Offer product suggestions when appropriate to customers
• Stock and rotate grocery, general merchandise, dairy, and frozen food products to ensure freshness and date control
• Restock and use supply items efficiently to minimize waste and maintain low supply costs
• Operate department equipment and tools safely and effectively
• Assist with receiving vendor merchandise and promptly unload truck deliveries
• Notify management of associate theft, customer shoplifting, unauthorized mark-downs, property defacement, or any illegal actions

Requirements

• Meet legal and company policy age requirements to perform job functions
• Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently
• Ability to understand and follow English instructions
• Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check
