The Grants Editor supports the development and submission of high-quality, competitive grant applications within the College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences. This role involves working closely with faculty and research development staff to ensure clarity, coherence, and compliance in written proposals for various funding agencies.
Responsibilities
- Deliver technical assistance to faculty in the development of single and multi-authored proposals
- Edit proposals for style, grammar, spelling, sentence structure, and punctuation
- Rewrite sections of proposals to increase readability and impact, ensuring compliance with guidelines
- Coordinate and write various documents (e.g., biosketches, data management plans) in correct formats for different sponsors
- Coordinate and write standardized documents for college departments pertaining to facilities, equipment, and services that support research proposals
- Update supporting documents to reflect new labs, faculty, and equipment changes
- Coordinate and encourage faculty to submit large multi-disciplinary proposals by identifying opportunities and matching them to faculty
- Research and present best practices in proposal writing to faculty through one-on-one sessions or workshops
- Regularly update the web page with new opportunities and information on tuition remission, fringe, and indirect rates
- Write various letters of recommendation as requested by the Dean and edit/rewrite peer review journals for faculty
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in business, personnel, grant-in-aid or public administration
- Fundamental working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures related to job duties
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in business, personnel, grant-in-aid or public administration
- 1+ years of work experience
Nice to Have
- 1+ years of work experience in a related field
