Global Services MRO Front Line Leader - F/A - 18 Operations Manager

About This Role

Lead the daily operations of the F/A-18 MRO team, ensuring maintenance, repair, modifications, and overhaul on the F/A-18 E/F/G platform. This role involves managing technical and personnel aspects, driving process improvements, and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for hiring qualified technicians and maintaining adequate certifications.
• Pre-planning and acquiring resources for planned maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with the team to create and meet the daily plan; create and implement recovery plans as needed.
• Identify constraints and collaborate with functional teams to mitigate delays (i.e. NCR routing, part shortages, tooling needs, etc).
• Provides technical and personnel management of the Operations team.
• Manages, develops, and motivates salary and hourly technicians, shop leads and support personnel.
• Leads process improvements; investigates and resolves process failures (RCCA).
• Create and implement 5S plan.
• Utilize KPI's (i.e. FTQ, Cost, Schedule, etc) to manage the daily operation of an MRO team.
• Develops and maintains positive relationships/partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Aviation Operations, Systems, Avionics, engineering and/or Flight Test
• 3+ years of experience in a leadership or management role
• Willing to travel up to 10%
• Willing to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance and U.S. Citizenship

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Aviation Operations, Systems, Avionics, engineering and/or Flight Test; 3+ years of experience in a leadership or management role.

Nice to Have

• Bachelors Degree or Higher
• 3+ years of experience working (or leading a team) in either avionics, mechanical or structural maintenance on the F/A-18 platform
• 3+ years of experience working in a "safe for flight" (ramp) aircraft delivery environment
• 5+ years of experience in sustainment, maintenance, and modifications (MRO facility)
• 5+ years of experience working with Government customers (i.e. DCMA, NAVAIR, NAVSUP, etc)
• 5+ years of experience implementing continuous process improvement, lean processes, and employee involvement/engagement strategies in a manufacturing environment.
