General Counsel

About This Role

As General Counsel, you will establish and elevate the legal function, ensuring Yomali’s continued growth is supported by robust legal frameworks and sound governance at every stage of our international expansion. This role offers direct access to the governance committee and the responsibility to advance the group’s ambitious international growth objectives.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal advice to leadership on corporate, employment, M&A, and compliance matters in multiple jurisdictions
• Develop legal frameworks that minimize exposure to liability and manage legal risks
• Address complex legal issues proactively, with a focus on anticipating and mitigating future risks, especially in international contexts
• Manage and oversee all aspects of contract review, negotiation, and drafting
• Represent the company in discussions with external counsel, regulatory agencies, and during key transactions
• Lead policy development and periodic review in collaboration with department heads
• Support board governance and advise on corporate structure across regions
• Oversee and optimize compliance procedures for new legislation, products, and risk management initiatives
• Collaborate effectively with business leaders and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with company policies and initiatives
• Support leadership in enterprise projects with global legal implications, including cross-border transactions

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years as General Counsel or senior in-house legal lead within a scaling SaaS, technology, or digital-first business
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership of corporate and employment matters over multiple business cycles
• Experience seeing legal initiatives through from design to implementation
• Law degree from a recognized university
• Admitted to practice in at least one US or European jurisdiction
• Extensive senior-level experience as in-house counsel, with clear capability to lead cross-functional legal initiatives
• Proven track record in corporate, employment, M&A and compliance
• Sophisticated drafting, negotiation, and risk assessment skills
• Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated judgment in balancing legal risk and business objectives

Qualifications

• Law degree from a recognized university
• Minimum 5 years as General Counsel or senior in-house legal lead within a scaling SaaS, technology, or digital-first business
