About This Role

The General Clerk III (Purchasing) researches, sources, and procures parts, equipment, and services for a DoD contractor, specializing in operations and maintenance for the U.S. Navy. This role ensures timely acquisition and financial tracking of materials under the procurement process.

Responsibilities

  • Research, quote, source, and procure parts, equipment, and subcontracted services for the contractor and government
  • Monitor transactions, document and maintain current status, and follow-up with vendors from quote to final invoice
  • Perform financial data entry functions
  • Perform miscellaneous office management and administrative duties
  • Provide status reports as requested to senior management and the customer
  • Chair bi-weekly meetings and brief material procurement department scope of work
  • Assist in visitor control and front desk reception

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years' experience in administrative, data entry, and/or material acquisitions support role
  • Proficient in MS Office Software Suite (Excel, Outlook)
  • Attention to detail, diligent status documentation, identification and escalation of potential issues or delays
  • Self-motivated with excellent time-management skills
  • Current Driver's License
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Security Secret Clearance
  • Ability to pass background screening (SSN, Driver Record, Criminal Background Investigation)

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years' experience in administrative, data entry, and/or material acquisitions support role

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience in purchasing, accounting, or project support specialist role
