Food Service Driver/Dietary Aide

About This Role

The Food Service Driver/Dietary Aide provides assistance and transportation in all food functions for healthcare facilities. This role ensures food procedures are followed and maintains a good working rapport with inter-department personnel.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food to facilities
• Work with the facility's Dietitian/Director of Food Services and implement recommended changes
• Ensure all food procedures are followed in accordance with established policies
• Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel and other facility departments
• Assist in serving meals as necessary and on a timely basis
• Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties
• Set up meal trays, food carts, dining room, etc., as instructed
• Assist cook in preparing meals
• Distribute and collect menus as necessary
• Obtain food supplies for next meal
• Assist in checking diet trays before distribution
• Deliver food carts, trays, etc., to designated areas

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Valid CA Driver's License
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
• Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm
