About This Role

Perform maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance on building/facility systems, structures, equipment, and furniture. This role involves using various hand and power tools, understanding mechanical components like gears and pumps, and adhering to strict safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental requirements
  • Perform cleanup duties, material handling, and storage duties
  • Identify, use, and care for common hand and power tools, including craft-specific tools and equipment
  • Apply craft-related mathematics and safety standards for rigging and equipment inspection
  • Understand and perform gearbox overhaul, including checks and measurements of end play, backlash, tooth contact, and shaft run out
  • Understand the operation, components, routine maintenance, and overhaul of centrifugal and reciprocating compressors
  • Understand the types and functions, installation, lubrication, maintenance, causes of failure, and replacement of sliding surface and roller contact bearings
  • Understand the parts, function, maintenance, and troubleshooting of typical motor operators, including gears, rotary drum limit switches, and torque switches
  • Understand the types, basic operation, troubleshooting, and overhaul of reciprocating and rotary positive displacement pumps and single and multistage centrifugal pumps
  • Perform maintenance repairs on building/facility systems, structures, equipment, and furniture
  • Complete preventive maintenance (PMs) and client or proactive work orders
  • Assist senior mechanics on complex tasks or major repairs and modifications

Requirements

  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions
  • Knowledge and use of safety standards and best safety practices relevant to rigging
  • Knowledge of various types and functions of gears, components, and overhaul procedures
  • Understanding of operation, maintenance, and overhaul of centrifugal and reciprocating compressors
  • Understanding of bearing types, functions, installation, lubrication, and maintenance
  • Understanding of motor operators, pumps, and pipe systems
  • Ability to identify, use, and care for common hand and power tools and craft specific tools
  • Physical ability to work at varying heights, lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stoop, climb, kneel, and reach
