This role supports a Department of Defense customer by reviewing and analyzing financial data, providing mission and decision-making support on budgetary, financial, and civilian pay issues, and continuously improving financial services and operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial certification of financial reports with DFAS and other DoD components
- Perform reconciliations of detailed financial transactions to financial statements and other financial reconciliations
- Assist with monthly compilation of trading partner information, review and analysis of differences, and identify root causes of variances with DFAS and other DoD components
- Assist in the preparation of DoD Information Technology Investment Portal /Select & Native Programming Data Input System for Information Technology (DITIP/SNAP-IT) reporting, DoD Information Technology Portfolio Registry (DITPR) reporting, DoD Data Center Inventory Management (DCIM) System, Integrated Business Framework - Data Alignment Portal (IBF-DAP) reporting
- Perform detailed analysis of undistributed cash collection and disbursement transactions to clear balances
- Perform detailed analysis and review of all journal voucher packages for compliance with accounting standards and the United States Standard General Ledger
- Develop financial reporting related corrective action plans (CAPs) to address self-identified or auditor-identified deficiencies
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Business, Accounting, Engineering, Information Technology, or other related field
- Five (5) years of work experience in supporting the Department of Defense or similar agency
- DoD budget and financial experience
- Two (2) years experience with DoD Programming, Planning, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE)
- Current practical experience using DoD IT resource reporting systems of record (DITIP/SNAP-IT, DITPR, DCIM, IBF-DAP)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Excel, Access, Project, SharePoint, and PowerPoint) and Visio
- Demonstrated experience presenting to and engaging with senior level civilians
- SECRET Clearance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Business, Accounting, Engineering, Information Technology, or other related field
- Five (5) years of work experience in supporting the Department of Defense or similar agency, with two (2) years experience in DoD Programming, Planning, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE)
