About This Role

Perform installation, calibration, repair, and maintenance tasks for vehicular scanning units and computer systems, ensuring all work adheres to technical specifications and client expectations and requires frequent travel.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks related to various hardware installation projects according to work orders.
  • Plan and perform layout, installation, modifications, and removal of vehicular scanning units and computer systems.
  • Perform assigned on-site installation, calibration, repair, maintenance, and test tasks.
  • Consult technical documentation for installation.
  • Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions during installation.
  • Cooperate with the on-site technical team and share information across the organization.
  • Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations/briefings.
  • Build positive relationships with team members and clients.
  • Participate in pre-production and training meetings as needed.
  • Produce timely and detailed service reports.
  • Ensure necessary equipment to perform all requested work is available.
  • Execute work in accordance with client's expectations.
  • Report non-standard situations to the project manager.
  • Project a professional image and keep the work site clean.
  • Complete work by deadline.

Requirements

  • Previous Field Service Technician experience
  • 3 years of experience as a Field Technician or similar position in installation and maintenance of multidisciplinary products (hardware and software)
  • Basic networking knowledge
  • Ability and knowledge to use power and hand tools (e.g., voltmeter, cable testers)
  • Professional written & oral communication skills
  • Strong customer-facing skills
  • High physical work capacity (ability to lift weights of up to 35 pounds) and ability to perform prolonged work safely
  • Availability and authorization to travel frequently within the state and/or out of the state

Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience as a Field Technician or similar position in installation and maintenance of multidisciplinary products (hardware and software)

Nice to Have

  • Experience of servers and network equipment installations and maintenance
  • Experience with vehicular hardware installations and maintenance (12V electrical experience)
  • Experience with the installations of AV & telecommunications equipment (In ground scanners, Monitors, Security & Surveillance Cameras, CCTV, Sonar, etc.)
  • Posts, Railing installation experience (drilling into concrete, bricks, etc.)
  • Experience in leading a team
