This Field Sales Engineer role focuses on maintaining and expanding existing wind energy accounts while prospecting new industrial opportunities across Midwest and Eastern territories. The position requires a technical background in AC/DC electrical components and mechanical systems, with significant travel to customer sites for technical validation and sales.
Responsibilities
- Engage with new and existing accounts to increase product sales and grow market presence
- Manage long-term sales cycles (~2 years) and product development projects
- Engage maintenance teams, site leads, purchasing, and owner/operators
- Travel to customer sites; run on-site discovery; gather photos, measurements, conditions
- Educate customers on products available and provide products for testing and validation
- Verify product performance with customers in operation
- Communicate specification changes in conjunction with manufacturing and engineering teams
- Drive deals from technical fit through close
- Collaborate with management to develop a strategic sales plan
- Present and participate in trade association events
- Assess market trends and provide market intelligence on competitive activity
Requirements
- 2+ years of technical, consultative sales experience
- Experience with mechanical systems, AC/DC motors and/or electrical components
- Willingness to work/climb at heights (200+ foot ladders)
- Willingness/ability to travel 50%
