This is an open-rank faculty position in Aerospace Engineering focusing on aerothermodynamics, gas-surface interactions, high-temperature physics, and plasma physics to contribute to research and teaching at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Responsibilities
- Teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels in aerospace engineering and related areas
- Establish and maintain an active and independent research program
- Provide service to the department, university, and the profession
- Mentor students and junior researchers
Requirements
- Doctoral degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field
- Expertise in aerothermodynamics modeling and simulation
- Expertise in gas-surface thermochemical interactions
- Expertise in high-temperature physics and ablation processes
- Expertise in plasma physics, as related to hypersonic flight and atmospheric entry
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field
Nice to Have
- Expertise in other areas relevant to Aerospace Engineering that complement current departmental strengths
