Facility Attendant P/T (Ballroom)

About This Role

This role primarily performs semi-skilled manual services, maintenance, and supervision for the Signature Sunrise Ballrooms and Civic Center Theatre, municipal buildings, parks, and recreation facilities. The employee will perform maintenance, custodial, and set-up and take-down for ballroom rentals while interacting with patrons for high impact events and enforcing facility rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform unskilled and semi-skilled tasks relating to maintenance, repair, and improvement of park and recreation facilities and buildings
• Operate electric and gasoline driven power tools including string trimmers, edger, chain saws, pumps, lawnmowers, and hand held power tools
• Serve as a trades helper to maintenance and sprinkler mechanics, performing semi-skilled carpentry, painting, cement, fencing, and irrigation work
• Perform minor maintenance of facilities and grounds including landscaping, gardening, and various custodial duties
• Clean and disinfect restrooms and restock paper products
• Move furniture, tables, and chairs for meetings and banquets as directed
• Clean up spills and enforce rental agreements
• Regularly inspect facilities and take corrective action to remove safety hazards, graffiti, and signs of vandalism
• Prepare required documentation related to deficiencies in facilities or equipment, hazardous situations, and incidents of disorder or violations
• Assist the public by providing general facility information, direction, advice on rules and regulations, resolution of disputes, and dispensing first-aid supplies

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Basic janitorial and/or maintenance experience or equivalent combination of training and experience
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to obtain a valid Florida driver’s license prior to hire

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of GED equivalency diploma
• Basic janitorial and/or maintenance experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
