Facilities Maintenance Technician

About This Role

Execute routine maintenance tasks to ensure the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of Walmart stores and equipment, operating under the supervision of the General Maintenance Manager.

Responsibilities

• Execute routine maintenance tasks to uphold safety, functionality, and aesthetics of Walmart Stores, equipment, or fixtures
• Adhere to established maintenance schedules and guidelines
• Conduct inspections, cleaning, and repairing facilities, equipment, or fixtures
• Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets utilizing multiple craft skills (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment)
• Utilize work order management system to receive and document reactive repair Work Orders
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues
• Complete all required training for safe equipment and tool operation

Requirements

• 18 years or older
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to move up and down ladders frequently
• Comfortable working at heights frequently
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
• Able to work in various temperatures
• Clean driving record and ability to pass MVR report
• Vocational or Technical certification and 1 year experience, or 2 years total work experience, in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade
• Vocational or Technical certification and 3 years' experience, or 5 years' experience, in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1 year experience with vocational/technical certification, or 2 years total work experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade; or 3 years experience with vocational/technical certification, or 5 years experience in one of the trades

Nice to Have

• Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical trade program
• License in related trade in city and/or state where job is located
• Using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
