Event Staff Bartender/Server

About This Role

The Event Staff Bartender/Server provides food and beverage service to patrons at various locations, including the Naval Academy Club, as part of the Retail Dining and Hospitality Team. This role ensures timely service, mixes beverages, and assists with banquet setup and cleanup to enhance the Academy experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide food and beverage service to event patrons
• Answer patron questions regarding food and service
• Respond to guests with sensitivity regarding their needs and requests
• Assure that all food and beverages are served in a timely manner
• Mix and serve a wide variety of beverages, including liquors, beer, and wine
• Execute proper and timely setup and cleanup of all banquets
• Report maintenance problems or other issues to the supervisor
• Lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds frequently, and occasionally over 100 pounds onto a dolly

Requirements

• Minimum two years' experience as a server and/or bartender
• Skilled in mixing basic drinks (e.g., Blood Mary, Margarita)
• Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under short time constraints
• Ability to understand and communicate in English
• Must meet minimum age requirements

Qualifications

• Minimum of two-year's experience as a server and/or bartender in a food or beverage establishment, with restaurant or catering bartending preferred.
