Event Security Team

About This Role

Join the Event Security Team at Princeton University to provide general security, personal safety, and customer services for special events, as well as preserving and protecting University property from theft and vandalism.

Responsibilities

• Provide general security, personal safety and customer services to the University community for special events
• Preserve and protect University property from theft and vandalism
• Perform student and staff building lockouts
• Staff the access booth and serve as the first point of contact for vehicular traffic
• Perform fixed and roving patrol when assigned to Firestone Library or the Art Museum
• Maintain constant standing and active walking patrol at special events
• Assist University guests with information and assistance
• Maintain effective working relationships with all members of the campus community
• Inspect and ensure security and safety and report all deficiencies to supervisors
• Observe and report all emergencies and request assistance as needed

Requirements

• Retired law enforcement or corrections officer with Police Training Commission (PTC) certification
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Ability to work varied hours including nights, weekends and holidays
• Available during important peak events (e.g. Reunions, Move Ins, Move Outs)
• Ability to remain on feet for a minimum of eight hours at a time with scheduled breaks
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, lift, carry, push, pull, climb, balance, walk, and run
• Work involves considerable exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperature and loud noises
• Work involves moderate exposure to hazards and physical risks to personal safety
• Valid driver's license
• Successful completion of a background check

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 25+ years of experience as a retired law enforcement or corrections officer
