Event Manager

About This Role

This Event Manager position ensures total guest satisfaction for all local and group functions, maintaining product standards while maximizing profitability. The role involves coordinating all aspects of event execution and liaising with clients.

Responsibilities

• Manage banquet business and ensure customer satisfaction with all functions
• Serve as onsite liaison with clients to ascertain precise event requirements
• Co-coordinate venue, contractors, and equipment hire
• Co-coordinate staffing requirements and staff briefings
• Handle client queries on event day and troubleshoot exhibitor and visitor problems
• Oversee the dismantling and removal of events and clear the venue efficiently
• Perform post-event evaluation including data entry, analysis, and reports for event management
• Coordinate and supervise the execution of all banquet functions to ensure clients’ specifications are adhered to
• Perform all positions in banquet operations to supervise, direct, and train all banquet personnel
• Complete daily reports and assist in preparing departmental budget

Requirements

• PC proficient (Microsoft Office)
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
• Ability to accommodate a flexible schedule, including regular extended shifts, weekend, and evening work

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year College or University program; or prior related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years in Food and Beverage management with a strong knowledge of restaurant operation preferred, prior hotel sales, marketing, and catering experience strongly preferred, prior experience in a dining server position.
