About This Role

Lead and support a remote team of Python engineers focused on solutions engineering for open source software. Drive the development of infrastructure-as-code products that enable efficient bare-metal operations for various computing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of Python engineers working remotely in global locations
  • Perform hiring, coaching, mentoring, feedback, and hands-on career development for team members
  • Contribute code directly to demonstrate sound engineering principles
  • Plan and manage progress on agreed goals and projects
  • Set and manage expectations with other engineering and operations teams
  • Coordinate with management and internal and external stakeholders or customers
  • Advocate for modern, agile software development practices
  • Help develop and evangelize great engineering and organizational practices
  • Grow a healthy, collaborative engineering culture in line with the company values
  • Actively participate as part of the leadership team and collaborate with other leaders

Requirements

  • Track record of developing and growing people
  • Knowledgeable and passionate about agile software development
  • Experience leading, coaching, and mentoring software developers, especially Python ones
  • Knowledgeable in cloud computing concepts and technologies
  • Comfortable administrating Linux servers, including their storage and networking
  • Hands-on experience with software automation
  • Ability to organize and ensure timely delivery of high-quality software by the team

Nice to Have

  • University degree in Computer Science or related software engineering field
  • Thorough understanding of modern infrastructure, including OpenStack or Kubernetes
  • Experience in operations as well as software development
  • Familiarity with the challenges of large-scale, multi-cloud operations
  • Go expertise
