Electronics Test Technician

About This Role

This role involves performing tests and troubleshooting on printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA’s) and operating related equipment to ensure department output objectives are met. The technician will analyze failures, document results, and contribute to production goals.

Responsibilities

• Run Genrad Test and Flying Probe Test Machines
• Perform troubleshooting of failed PCBA’s to the component level, utilizing assembly prints, mechanical part drawings, schematics, and electronic equipment
• Effectively perform, document, and communicate the results of failure analysis
• Understand electronic component functionality and interpret electrical schematics or mechanical assembly prints
• Assist in the development of production documentation such as work instructions and troubleshoot aids
• Perform minor repair and maintenance of production and/or test equipment
• Provide training to production operators and technicians
• Repair product and contribute toward production goals

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Two (2) Years prior experience in Production and/or Manufacturing
• Aptitude and physical abilities to learn soldering and become solder certified
• Knowledge of prototype, assembly drawings and blueprint reading
• Ability to perform complex and critical soldering and mechanical assembly, extensive knowledge of techniques, tools, materials, military standards and ISO 9000

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required. AAS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology desired.
• Two (2) years prior experience in Production and/or Manufacturing, with desired experience in testing/troubleshooting analog and digital circuits in Aircraft Instruments or other Electronics.

Nice to Have

• AAS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology
• Experience in the manufacturing/testing/troubleshooting of analog and digital circuits in Aircraft Instruments or other Electronics
• Familiarity with Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) testing concepts
