Electronic Technician Trainee

About This Role

As an Electronic Technician Trainee, you will be trained to install, test, certify, and maintain PacifiCorp communication systems. This role involves configuring and troubleshooting equipment and creating detailed work and maintenance reports while working with other company personnel.

Responsibilities

• Install PacifiCorp communication systems
• Test PacifiCorp communication systems
• Certify PacifiCorp communication systems
• Maintain PacifiCorp communication systems
• Configure and troubleshoot communication equipment
• Create detailed work and maintenance reports
• Operate vehicles, tools, and materials supplied by the company
• Bid to a regular, permanent position and location after successful completion of the training course

Requirements

• Two-year College or technical degree in electrical, electrical apprenticeship, or equivalent experience
• FCC General Radiotelephone Operators License (GROL) with elements 1 & 3
• Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Windows, Internet browsers and Excel)
• Must pass PacifiCorp's Electronic Technician Trainee pool exam
• Valid driver's license with evidence of a safe driving record
• Qualified to operate a commercial motor vehicle (CMV)
• Able to perform off-road travel in extreme weather conditions

Qualifications

• Two-year College or technical degree in electrical, electrical apprenticeship, or equivalent experience

Nice to Have

• Advanced computer skills
• Previous experience as an electronic or communications technician in a utility environment
• Winter survival and snow cat training
