The EM Electrician A Journeyman performs various electrical maintenance work on traffic engineering and other electrical equipment, including installation and repair. This role also involves leading and training apprentices and assisting with project layout and design.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of electrical maintenance work of traffic engineering and other electrical equipment
- Exercise lead responsibility over apprentices
- Install and repair electrical traffic signals and other electrical equipment
- Assist foreperson lay-out and design work projects
- Train apprentices to perform the work
- Follow established health and safety procedures
- Maintain tools and equipment
- Discuss work problems and projects with co-workers
Requirements
- Journeyman Certification or completion of a four year Apprenticeship Program
- Pass pre-employment and random alcohol and drug tests
- Wear safety equipment as mandated by OSHA
- Valid driver's license
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brakes or obtain within six months of employment
Qualifications
- Completion of a four-year Apprenticeship Program or equivalent experience as a Journeyman Electrician.
