Electrical Technician II

About This Role

The Electrical Technician II maintains, repairs, and installs electrical equipment up to 12K volts. This role involves performing predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance on assigned equipment, which includes controls, motors, transformers, variable frequency drives, batteries, and generators. The individual will also perform complex electrical circuit installations and record data in the Computerized Maintenance Management System.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and install electrical equipment up to 12K volts
• Perform predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance on assigned electrical equipment
• Assist contractors as necessary
• Isolate power, locate and troubleshoot electrical problems, and make necessary repairs
• Restore power and check equipment for proper operation
• Perform complex electrical circuit installation for additions or modifications
• Pull wire and wire in circuits as shown on blueprints
• Test systems for proper installation
• Maintain and repair equipment at pump stations and plant facilities such as motors, vent fans, sump pumps, lighting systems, switchgears, and uninterrupted power supply systems
• Record data in OC San's Computerized Maintenance Management System (Maximo) regarding equipment, voltage and amp readings, and work performed

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Specialized training or coursework in electrical technology or a related field
• 3 years of experience maintaining, repairing, and installing electrical equipment
• Valid California Class C Driver's License

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D., supplemented by specialized training or coursework in electrical technology or a related field
• Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience maintaining, repairing, and installing electrical equipment
