Perform electrical engineering calculations, layout, and design systems for various projects with minimal supervision. Apply practical knowledge to resolve problems, make independent decisions, and potentially supervise subordinate personnel.
Responsibilities
- Perform engineering calculations and layout/design systems in accordance with established policies, standards, procedures, and code
- Apply practical knowledge and experience to resolve problems and conflicts related to assigned projects
- Make independent decisions for engineering tasks on assigned projects
- Occasionally supervise subordinate personnel or assist other engineers or designers
- Meet with Project Engineer and Project Manager to discuss design scope, schedule, budget, phasing, site issues, and design review
- Prepare design budgets and schedules with Project Manager and Project Engineer
- Estimate discipline man-hours required to complete design requirements
- Provide leadership and assign design job functions to designated designers and supervise their efforts
- Implement system types selected by the Project Engineer and provide complete construction documents
- Review preliminary and final engineering design with other disciplines for function, clearances, coordination, and final design selection
- Perform a final review of the engineering drawings
- Perform quality assurance on projects in coordination with technical manager or project engineer
- Mentor and motivate Engineering designers I, II, and III
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
- 8+ years of work experience
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
- Knowledge of discipline specific codes and other building codes
- Proficient in REVIT
- Proficient in Engineering Modeling tools
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
