The Electrical Foreman will lead and manage crew members' daily activities and production, ensuring adherence to project timelines, plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. This role involves providing necessary training on proper safety and operational procedures to the crew.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and organize people, equipment, tools, and materials to promote safe, efficient, and timely construction.
- Ensure that construction equipment is correctly operated and maintained.
- Maintain accurate reporting records including job quantities, productivity rates, time sheets, and daily management reports.
- Assist in developing a weekly schedule and in carrying out sequence of activities for assigned crew.
- Responsible for timely completion of work assignments within estimated costs while maintaining quality workmanship.
- Responsible for the safety of the crew, conducting operations according to company and government safety rules.
- Develop and maintain crew attitude through toolbox meetings and communication of safety concerns, work scope, plans, and schedules.
- Monitor compliance by all supervised employees with company policies.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge and skill to perform all essential functions of craft workers under supervision.
- Ability to perform task planning to safely and efficiently carry out all aspects of work.
- Working knowledge of scheduling, material control, unit manhour performance, estimating fundamentals, and job cost management systems.
- Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions, communicating effectively with craft workers and management.
- Good communicator, motivator, and team player.
- Ability to constantly move about a construction/industrial site, including standing, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling.
- Ability to work in a construction environment exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions.
- Ability to work irregular hours, weekends, overtime, and holidays as required.
- Ability to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access required equipment/work areas (may exceed 200 feet), and climb/maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
- Ability to move and work in and around confined and cluttered places and uneven surfaces.
- Ability to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment.
- Ability to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across construction/industrial site.
- Required tools.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.
