Electrical Engineering Group Manager

About This Role

This role involves leading and managing the electrical engineering team for the Buildings, Energy and Infrastructure (BEI) Business Unit. The manager will oversee technical and design services for projects, serve as a client interface, and drive business development. Additionally, this position is responsible for team building, mentoring, and ensuring projects adhere to established budgets and timelines.

Responsibilities

• Act as the client interface for project matters, frequently interacting directly with clients
• Lead and oversee the technical and design services for electrical engineering projects
• Manage, build, and lead the team through coaching, mentoring, feedback, and hands-on career development
• Identify and recruit new regional team members, including managers, engineers, production staff, and administrative staff
• Allocate resources and balance manpower assignment to projects
• Ensure timeliness, quality, and adherence to established budgets for the group's projects
• Conduct preliminary evaluations, prepare various reports, produce design drawings, and prepare technical specifications
• Prepare permit submittals for engineering projects
• Act as a business developer by sourcing new clientele and delivering responsive, high-quality service
• Prepare proposals and present project presentations to clients
• Collaborate with other departments to support the sale and delivery of company-wide services
• Stay current with local, state, and federal design standards and regulations
• Balance multiple tasks on multiple projects

Requirements

• 10+ years professional experience
• PE certification or ability to gain one quickly through reciprocity
• Experience in building power, lighting, telecom, and fire alarm systems
