About This Role

The Electrical Engineer (Power Systems) is responsible for maintaining reliable electrical service across a resort by providing system electrical design, field engineering, and maintenance support for various electrical distribution and central plant systems. This role supports theme parks, hotels, and off-site facilities, ensuring compliance with electrical standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Support diverse lines of business with answers to electrical questions, code interpretation, and engineering/design solutions.
  • Respond to outages or other facility-related electrical emergencies.
  • Provide maintenance electricians with technical assistance and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Provide field and documentation support for new and renovation projects.
  • Coordinate assessments and inspections to evaluate conditions and plan electrical projects to comply with standards and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain system drawings for accuracy, adequacy, quality, and completeness.
  • Ensure electrical solutions projects comply with applicable building codes (NEC, NESC, Title 24, CBC, NFPA, OSHA, DOSH 6.2, insurance underwriter requirements, and Resort Standards).
  • Collaborate with Resort partners and outside consultants/contractors for the maintenance of one-line diagrams, power system studies, and energy management solutions.
  • Provide engineering support for chiller, boiler, and compressed air plants.
  • Review planned electrical outages for operational and safety issues.

Requirements

  • ABET-accredited BA/BS Electrical Engineering degree with an emphasis on Electrical Power systems design and operation
  • Professional Engineering License (PE) in the State of California
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in engineering design and repair of electrical systems and equipment
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office
  • Knowledge of NEC, NESC, Title 24, OSHA
  • Excellent oral, written, listening, and communication skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex issues to non-technical peers and management
  • Strong interpersonal and team-building skills

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate and work with craft labor and contractors

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited BA/BS Electrical Engineering degree with an emphasis on Electrical Power systems design and operation.
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in engineering design and repair of electrical systems and equipment.

Nice to Have

  • MA/MS Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on power systems design and operation
  • Experience incorporating electrical distribution systems configuration and data into a Geographic Information System (ArcGIS)
  • Experience using SKM Power Tools and Energy Pro
  • Experience with a campus environment electrical distribution system
  • Knowledge of SKM software and experience performing power systems analysis
