Electrical Engineer III

About This Role

This Electrical Engineer III role focuses on designing and engineering various electrical systems, including power, lighting, grounding, and special systems, for life sciences and food/beverage industries. The individual will manage projects of intermediate complexity, coordinate with diverse teams, and oversee the Electrical discipline's scope and budget.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems of intermediate complexity in conformance with code requirements and in coordination with other design disciplines
• Coordinate with other architects, engineers, designers, and internal/external team members to ensure a coordinated, constructible and complete design
• Coordinate with construction trade partners, vendors, and manufacturers
• Develop narratives, reports, construction drawing packages, and write construction specifications on small projects of intermediate complexity with little oversight
• Support construction activities such as RFI responses, submittal reviews, punch list development, and construction progress reports
• Plan and direct work and manage a project electrical design budget on small to medium sized projects of intermediate complexity
• Lead quality check efforts for small projects of intermediate complexity and drive overall project quality
• Provide mentorship to less experienced Electrical Engineers and/or Designers
• Lead systems design programming and master planning on intermediate projects with support from Design Lead or Senior Engineer

Requirements

• ABET-accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or Engineering Technology
• 5 years of experience
• Relevant AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) firm experience
• Professional Engineer registration in good standing

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or Engineering Technology
• 5 years of experience, relevant AEC firm experience

Nice to Have

• Relevant design firm experience
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
• Intermediate knowledge of GMP manufacturing environments
• Intermediate experience with performing engineering calculations and developing and implementing electrical lighting, power and special systems design
• Intermediate experience with using and applying electrical codes and standards (NFPA, IESNA, UL, OSHA, and/or IEEE)
• Basic experience with using and applying applicable building codes
• Proficient with intermediate internal and external cross-discipline project team coordination
• Proficient with intermediate coordination with construction trade partners, vendors and manufacturers
• Proficient at intermediate electrical lighting, power and special systems design calculations with limited supervision
• Intermediate experience conducting and leading field surveys of existing conditions and providing support of field reporting
• Basic experience with troubleshooting issues with electrical equipment and systems
• Ability to travel for client development and project execution, and internal and external training opportunities
