Electrical and Instrumentation Technician

About This Role

The E&I Technician will maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize plant electrical and instrumentation systems in a chemical manufacturing facility, prioritizing safety, productivity, and business needs. This role involves performing routine and non-routine maintenance on various electrical systems and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and non-routine maintenance on electrical systems and instrumentation
• Calibrate and configure sensors, controllers, and automated process equipment
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and instrumentation issues using drawings, manuals, and diagnostics
• Use electrical and instrumentation diagnostic equipment and handheld tools
• Run or operate devices to test their performance
• Collaborate with Operations and Engineering teams to optimize process safety, control, and efficiency
• Procure parts and supplies; develop and maintain spare parts inventory for electrical equipment and instrumentation
• Track and complete work using plant CMMS software
• Maintain good housekeeping of maintenance shop and plant
• Perform work according to safe work practices, including permit to work, lock out/tag out, and Arc Flash protocol
• Coordinate outside vendors or resources for specialized service, repairs, or installations

Requirements

• 4 years minimum experience
• HS diploma or GED
• Knowledge of building, electrical codes and OSHA regulations

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED. Associates degree or trade certification in a related field is preferred.
• 4 years minimum experience

Nice to Have

• Associates degree or trade certification in a related field
• NFPA 70E certification
