About This Role

This Electrical and Controls Engineer role provides technical support and ensures efficient operation of electrical control systems in industrial automation, focusing on warehouse and parcel logistics. The engineer will collaborate with teams and customers to resolve issues and implement system improvements, ensuring reliability and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver quality customer service by communicating professionally and resolving technical inquiries and service requests efficiently
  • Collaborate with team members to fulfill service requests accurately, efficiently, and with consistent quality
  • Design and implement electrical control systems for customer projects that meet operational requirements and performance goals
  • Evaluate existing control systems to identify opportunities for improvement and implement solutions that enhance system efficiency and reliability
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical control system issues to minimize operational disruption and prepare incident reports using Problem Solving Methodology (PSM)
  • Partner with engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing teams to integrate electrical control systems into operational processes
  • Provide onsite and remote technical support to resolve complex issues
  • Ensure electrical control systems comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and organizational best practices
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system designs, changes, performance metrics, and troubleshooting efforts
  • Develop and update technical bulletins, OEM manuals, and other technical documentation
  • Provide training to staff and customers on new technologies and control systems to enhance their operational capabilities

Requirements

  • Experience loading software, navigating GUIs, and troubleshooting software issues
  • Experience with ladder logic programming on Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs
  • Proficiency in mechanical troubleshooting
  • Experience with CAD tools and simulation software
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and safety regulations (e.g., NEC, NFPA, OSHA)
  • Knowledge of industrial control and IT networks, including Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Profibus, ASI Bus, and Modbus TCP
  • Experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, MCCs, and electrical power distribution systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Demonstrated ability to build customer relationships and deliver quality service
  • Ability to obtain a USPS sensitive clearance within 3 months of hire
  • Experience designing and implementing electrical control systems, preferably in supply chain, manufacturing, or industrial automation environments
  • Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics, including control panels, motor control panels, motor control centers, and power distribution systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Controls, Automation, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial automation or related industry, and a minimum of 2 years of experience in a customer-facing or customer service role.
