About This Role

The T&D Senior Drive School and Vehicle Training Specialist will build the future culture of Southern California Edison by training drivers and Fleet Operation Employees. This role focuses on shaping the safety and skills foundation for Edison's driving and fleet operations, acting as a subject matter expert for driver safety and fleet training practices.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate various training programs (new hire, refresher, continuous education) for T&D students in electrical construction, maintenance, and operations within classroom or field settings
• Participate as a subject matter expert in developing and maintaining training curriculum, materials, performance support tools, and assessments using SAT, focusing on safety, processes, and technologies
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify training needs, gaps, and improvement opportunities in T&D Training delivery
• Administer and proctor classroom training tests and field assessments, determining pass/fail criteria and providing feedback to students
• Partner with front-line employees and stakeholders to resolve training issues and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including annual safety and compliance training
• Participate in the development and execution of the technical training roadmap, strategic planning, and operational excellence initiatives
• Organize and oversee hands-on demonstrations and lab exercises to reinforce learning objectives and provide practical experience with electrical equipment and tools
• Support training delivery logistics and resources across multiple training locations, programs, and systems on topics such as distribution construction and maintenance and electrical systems
• Serve as a mentor to help students navigate their education and career paths in their technical field
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in T&D to incorporate relevant updates into training programs and ensure compliance with safety regulations

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in electric utility line work, training and/or instructional design
• Valid Class C Driver's License

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in electric utility line work, training and/or instructional design.

Nice to Have

• 3 years of Commercial Driving Experience
• Knowledge of the DMV Pre-Trip and Air Brake Inspection Procedures
• Familiarity with off-road vehicles including UTVs and full-sized vehicles
• 3 years of experience in automotive/truck repair and maintenance
• Comprehensive knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and CHP regulations related to heavy truck operations
• Experience in developing training curriculum and/or managing training program deployment
