About This Role

Lead safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance across manufacturing operations. Build and implement comprehensive safety programs, manage HazMat and ISO systems, and cultivate a proactive safety culture.

Responsibilities

  • Lead OSHA compliance across all facilities
  • Build, implement, and enforce safety programs, policies, and procedures
  • Conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), risk assessments, and safety audits
  • Own and oversee critical programs including Lockout/Tagout, Machine Guarding, PPE, Electrical Safety, Walking-Working Surfaces, and Hazard Communication
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and violations using root cause analysis
  • Maintain OSHA logs (300, 300A, 301)
  • Serve as the primary contact for OSHA inspections and inquiries
  • Own the HazCom program company-wide, managing SDS systems, chemical inventories, and labeling standards
  • Establish safe handling, storage, and disposal procedures for chemicals
  • Lead spill response and emergency planning, coordinating hazardous waste disposal and environmental reporting
  • Lead ISO-aligned management systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 readiness), including document control, policy governance, and records management
  • Build and manage internal audit programs, CAPA processes, and corrective action tracking
  • Conduct internal compliance audits and gap analyses, preparing facilities for external audits and certifications
  • Develop and deliver safety and compliance training for all employees, creating LMS-ready materials
  • Oversee facilities in North Carolina and Pennsylvania, involving 10-25% travel for audits, inspections, training, and incident response

Requirements

  • 7-10+ years of hands-on EHS/compliance experience in manufacturing
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA General Industry standards (29 CFR 1910)
  • Proven ownership of OSHA programs
  • Proven ownership of HazCom & SDS systems
  • Proven ownership of safety audits and investigations
  • Experience supporting or maintaining ISO management systems
  • Manufacturing floor experience (CNC, machining, grinding, blasting, coatings preferred)
  • Strong documentation, tracking, and reporting skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 7-10+ years of hands-on EHS/compliance experience in manufacturing

  • Multi-site manufacturing experience
  • Experience responding to OSHA inspections or citations
  • Experience building safety programs from the ground up
