Driller (Small Diameter)

About This Role

Operate and maintain drill rigs for geotechnical construction projects, installing tie-backs, micropiles, and soil mats. This role involves extensive travel within the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions, working outdoors year-round.

Responsibilities

• Operate and assist in maintaining Drill Rigs, installing tie backs, micro piles, soil mats etc.
• Prepare Grout for tiebacks, micro piles etc. (if experienced)
• Perform minor repairs and service to equipment
• Supervise drill rig helpers to tool or mix grout
• Develop a full understanding of Wagman safety policies and procedures and promote safe culture
• Arrive to job site on time and participate in all meetings
• Lift and place lagging boards onto shoring walls
• Work with and maintain construction related equipment including grout machines, drills, compressors
• Assist in maintaining drill rigs through proper inspection, cleaning of parts, reporting incidents
• Work with hoses for all types of machines on the job site
• Oversee drill crew to assure completing tasks properly and safely
• Carry, load and unload materials

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to communicate efficiently, work well with others and direct others assisting in the work
• Able to lift up to 60 pounds, continuously stand/walk, climb ladders, work outdoors in various weather, work at heights up to 150 feet, bend, squat, kneel, crawl

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED preferred
• Experience operating a small diameter drill, experience with micropiles, shotcrete, lagging walls. Experience in earth work and drilling is preferred.
