Domestic Services Aide 7 - Lead

About This Role

Serve as a lead worker in Housekeeping, overseeing the work of other Domestic Service Aides, providing instruction and training, and ensuring a safe, clean, and sanitary environment for patients, visitors, and employees. This role also involves purchasing supplies and potentially duties in the patient clothing room or clean linen room.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the work of other Domestic Service Aides
• Inspect work performed by Domestic Service Aides
• Provide instruction and training to Domestic Service Aides
• Purchase supplies through contract and local vendors
• Perform various housekeeping services to maintain a safe, clean, neat, and sanitary environment
• Perform duties in the patient clothing room including sewing, mending, washing, folding, sorting, and inventorying
• Process patient clothing requests and manage patient property discharge
• Maintain a clean and organized patient clothing room
• Perform tasks in the clean linen room such as pickup and delivery of linen carts, sorting, and replenishment
• Inventory supply linen and assess needs on wards

Requirements

• 30 months of experience as Domestic Services Aide
• 1 year of experience as Domestic Services Aide E6 in food service, housekeeping, clothing, or laundry

Qualifications

• No specific amount of formal education is required.
• Thirty months of experience equivalent to a Domestic Services Aide, including one year equivalent to a Domestic Services Aide E6 in a specific area of work such as food service, housekeeping, clothing or laundry.
