Director, Product Management & Marketing

About This Role

This role is responsible for the strategic product plan and execution for Leviton's U.S. Lighting product portfolio, driving profitability through effective product lifecycle management, new product development, and market analysis. This position will lead product management and marketing teams to ensure successful execution of strategies.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the annual strategic plan and deliver key elements to achieve sales and profitability growth
• Communicate overall product strategy to Product Management and Marketing teams for successful execution
• Liaise with Engineering, Sourcing, Operations, Customer Service, Sales, and Finance for product activities
• Optimize profitability of new and existing products with Operations, Engineering, Product Management, and Supply Chain Teams
• Interface with the Director of Engineering to optimize the New Product Process
• Manage the Product Team to align the existing product portfolio with market trends and opportunities
• Work with the Sales Team to conduct research and analysis for PAC, including economic justification and competitive pricing
• Manage all elements of the product development process, including specification, packaging, pricing, and phase out/in plans
• Establish measurement and review procedures for new product development and monitor performance against new products
• Acquire and maintain awareness of competitors' activities and inform top management on new products, technology, and pricing strategies
• Attend sales meetings, visit customers and end-users, and conduct product training presentations
• Attend lighting industry events to stay current with new products and technology to inform future product strategies
• Identify technology and market trends and update business unit strategy with the Management Team
• Identify alliance and acquisition target companies and develop business cases for analysis
• Collaborate with e-Business, Retail, Distribution Sales, Lighting Agents, and National Accounts to succeed
• Work with Product Management and Sales to develop product launch strategies for NPI with consistent market messaging

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in technical or business field
• 10-15 years' experience in Product Management and/or Marketing
• Architectural lighting experience
• Thorough knowledge of lighting products and distribution channels
• Highly developed creative skills and resourcefulness
• Critical thinking skills to determine best approach for bringing new products to market
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Self-reliant and excellent communicator
• Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with customers
• Ability to organize and manage "ad-hoc" teams
• Proficient in Microsoft applications
• Ability to clearly articulate plans and influence others
• Extremely well organized and capable of prioritizing and delegating
• Leadership and mentoring skills

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or business field is required. Master's degree preferred.
• 10 to 15 years' experience in Product Management and/or Marketing is required. Architectural lighting experience.
