About This Role

This critical new role leads the innovation strategy, including digital and AI initiatives, for Alexion's Patient Support Programs and Services. The Director also oversees Project Governance for the Patient Services team, driving strategic direction and project prioritization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and provide direction to Patient Services teams on innovative digital and AI solutions
  • Own and lead the Patient Services AI roadmap in partnership with stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities to enhance patient services and improve outcomes using AI
  • Integrate AI solutions into existing iPatient and Operational processes
  • Continuously improve AI systems for greater efficiency and satisfaction
  • Lead the next iteration of Patient Services Capabilities assessment and create an execution plan
  • Define strategic alignment, scope, and prioritization process for Patient Services Projects
  • Oversee the Project Management and Governance process
  • Manage investment and budget oversight for Patient Services
  • Lead the Mid Term Planning (3-year budgeting) Process
  • Accountable for overall Patient Services Budget Management

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or relevant field
  • 8-10+ years of Patient Services experience, ideally with an emphasis on leading Innovation strategies and project governance
  • People management experience
  • Proven ability working successfully in a fast-paced cross functional environment with many stakeholders that have competing interests
  • Comfort working through uncertainty while managing multiple, competing, and frequently shifting priorities
  • Working knowledge of legal, regulatory, and compliance rules within the biotech/pharmaceutical industry
  • Ability to work with external vendors during SOW, PO, and project budget accrual processes
  • Strong fluency in English (written and spoken language)
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office
  • Ability to present to internal and external stakeholders of 2 to 100+ people
  • Ability to travel 30%+ of time

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in the Life Sciences or other relevant field
  • 8-10+ years of Patient Services experience with emphasis on leading innovation strategies and project governance

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in the rare disease field of a patient services organization
  • Strong passion for digital advancement and an innovative mindset
  • Working knowledge of salesforce.com, AI technologies and other best-in-class technology solutions
