Director of Pharmacy (PIC)

About This Role

The Interim Director of Pharmacy (PIC) will oversee and lead all pharmacy operations in an inpatient behavioral health hospital, ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting the multidisciplinary care team. This role combines leadership with hands-on clinical responsibilities, including staffing as a pharmacist.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge and ensure regulatory compliance by leading operations and staff continuity
• Staff as a pharmacist 2–3 days per week, including order and product verification and provider collaboration
• Lead quarterly P&T meetings and contribute to Medical Executive meetings
• Manage controlled substance audits and medication compliance, including ordering and programs
• Oversee Omnicell automation and troubleshoot as needed
• Support antimicrobial stewardship and monthly reporting

Requirements

• Active North Carolina Pharmacist license
• Eligible and willing to serve as PIC
• Inpatient hospital pharmacy experience
• Minimum 2 years of pharmacy management experience

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of pharmacy management experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy

Nice to Have

• Omnicell or Pyxis experience preferred
