Director of Environmental Services

About This Role

Lead maintenance, housekeeping, and security operations within a senior living community, ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for residents, families, and team members.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision, daily oversight, and work hands-on alongside the maintenance team, supporting leadership for housekeeping and security.
• Ensure the community meets all applicable state, federal, and local regulations, including life safety and infection prevention standards.
• Develop and manage preventative maintenance programs to support resident safety and comfort.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and infection control across the community.
• Prepare for and support regulatory surveys, inspections, and audits.
• Manage departmental budgets, staffing levels, and supply inventories.
• Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate department supervisors and team members.
• Coordinate capital improvements, renovations, and vendor services.
• Respond to emergencies and after-hours needs as required.

Requirements

• 5+ years of leadership experience in senior living, healthcare, or hospitality environments
• Strong knowledge of life safety codes, infection control, and regulatory compliance
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams with a resident-centered approach
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Environmental Services, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred
• 5+ years of leadership experience in senior living, healthcare, or hospitality environments or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
