About This Role

This role involves leading the strategy and execution of capital markets transactions for DG and C&I solar plus battery storage projects across the US. The Director will manage the entire financing process, from origination and structuring to negotiation and execution, playing a central role in underwriting and risk analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Originate, structure, negotiate, and execute project finance transactions for DG solar and battery storage assets across the US
  • Lead construction debt, term debt, tax equity, tax credit transfer, warehouse, and portfolio financing transactions
  • Oversee financial modeling, valuation, and risk analysis for new investments, refinancings, and divestments
  • Present investment economics, risk assessment, and financing recommendations to executive and investment committees
  • Coordinate financing due diligence processes, working closely with internal teams and external counterparties
  • Lead financing strategy for new development opportunities, optimizing capital structure based on market conditions and investor appetite
  • Manage relationships with lenders, tax equity investors, infrastructure funds, advisors, and consultants
  • Support commercial and development teams by advising on project economics, contract structures, and bankability
  • Assist in the negotiation of key commercial agreements including PPAs, EPC contracts, equipment supply agreements, interconnection agreements, and O&M agreements
  • Build, manage, and mentor a team of finance professionals, including workload allocation, performance management, and hiring

Requirements

  • 10+ years experience in project finance, tax equity, or M&A in renewable energy, infrastructure, or power
  • Direct experience financing DG, C&I solar, community solar, and battery storage projects in the US
  • Strong understanding of US power markets, project economics, and merchant and contracted risk
  • Proven experience negotiating complex financing and transaction documentation
  • Established relationships with lenders, tax equity investors, and institutional capital providers
  • Advanced financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills
  • Strong leadership presence with experience managing and developing teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, engineering, or a related discipline
  • 10+ years of experience executing project finance, tax equity, and or M&A transactions within renewable energy, infrastructure, or power

Nice to Have

  • Professional qualification such as CFA, ACA, ACCA, or MBA
