About This Role

This role involves leading the identification, evaluation, and execution of strategic acquisitions, investments, and partnerships to define Uber's future. The Director will serve as a key architect of Uber's inorganic growth strategy across all global business lines. This is a high-impact leadership role requiring financial acumen, strategic foresight, and relationship-building skills with executive leadership and the broader technology ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Set the strategic direction for Uber's inorganic growth across Mobility, AV, Delivery, and Freight, partnering with senior operating leaders to identify and secure acquisitions that deliver durable competitive advantage
  • Lead the full M&A lifecycle, owning deal strategy, prioritization, and outcomes while directing complex cross-functional teams through due diligence, valuation, negotiation, and closing
  • Establish the rigorous investment bar by driving clear business cases, advanced valuation methodologies, and capital allocation frameworks, focusing specifically on long-term shareholder value creation
  • Serve as a critical senior advisor to executive leadership, leading high-stakes investment discussions, surfacing critical trade-offs and risks, and maintaining accountability from initial sourcing through post-close value realization

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional experience in corporate development, private equity, investment banking, or venture capital
  • Significant focus on the technology sector
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
