DevOps Engineer

About This Role

Join a dynamic team focused on optimizing software delivery within a key technology division. This individual contributor role oversees the CI/CD pipeline, collaborating with various platform and development teams to plan and execute software releases.

Responsibilities

• Manage application release schedules, ad-hoc projects, and key infrastructure initiatives across multiple environments and scrum teams
• Protect development and production environments by applying appropriate controls to maintain high availability and adhere to security standards
• Automate project releases and manage deployment processes to significantly improve efficiency and delivery speed for critical business platforms
• Navigate and understand complex application systems, coordinating dependencies across various development teams and systems
• Communicate deployment statuses clearly, concisely, and timely to all partners throughout the development lifecycle
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of CI/CD processes and best practices
• Partner with developers, release management, product owners, and leadership throughout the agile software delivery lifecycle

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working in an enterprise software delivery organization
• 5+ years managing release pipelines for complex and critical applications
• Expert knowledge of CI/CD tools in a cloud environment
• Skilled in branching strategies and code review processes
• Experience documenting and improving processes around CI/CD best practices
• Experience with data masking techniques to protect sensitive information in various environments
• Knowledge of advanced release strategy concepts, including deployments, tagging, versioning, and automations
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, and PowerShell scripting for custom automation solutions
• Proficiency in using command-line interfaces for managing development environments and metadata
• Expert knowledge of Agile methodologies and DevOps best practices
• Strong ownership mentality with a focus on stakeholder satisfaction and excellent collaboration skills
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including potential evenings, to support release triage as required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience working in an enterprise software delivery organization, specifically managing release pipelines for complex and critical applications.
