Deli Clerk

About This Role

The Deli Clerk is responsible for slicing, packaging, weighing, and selling various deli products while maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the deli department. This role provides excellent customer service by assisting members and ensuring product quality.

Responsibilities

• Slice, package, weigh, and sell various deli products, including meats and cheeses
• Maintain the presentation and cleanliness of the deli, including deli display cases
• Provide assistance to Members in the deli department and answer questions
• Answer Member calls and take special orders
• Receive and inspect deli shipments
• Display, stock, rotate, and store deli products following food safety and handling policies
• Ensure all products are fresh and meet company quality standards
• Operate and handle deli equipment in accordance with safety policies and procedures
• Clean and sanitize deli equipment and food surfaces
• Ensure scale systems are in working order and items are weighed and priced accurately

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age

Nice to Have

• Work experience in a deli department
• Prior experience operating manual/power slicers and scales
• Knowledge of deli products
